Built with the sweeping views of Sydney’s Rose Bay front of mind, the Sandcastle project by architects Luigi and Raffaello Rosselli - is a bold three-story property complete with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and an abundance of natural light throughout.

Boasting dynamic shapes paired with neutral tones and contrasting textures, this project highlights the importance of connection between interior and exterior. The Sandcastle project showcases textural Krause Emperor Bricks in various custom shades both on the property’s façade and internally, complementing aspects such as timber floorboards and crisp white panelling.

With a brief to produce a warm, welcoming home that takes cues from the natural environment, the use of muted tones of the Emperor Brick – though minimalistic - offers an inviting and unique design, complemented by a vast skylight, flooding the timber stairwell that leads you to the expansive kitchen and dining area.

The use of Emperor Bricks in the flow between inside and out, ensures an emphasis on natural materials – as part of the rooftop, private courtyard and sun screens, allowing the owners to take full advantage of the bay breeze and sunlight.

This particular type of brick is soft, not angular; it’s handmade and has edges that are not too sharp, giving a warm feeling.
