Commanding sweeping outlooks across Taylors Bay and Bradleys Head, Mosman 5 is a study in elegant contrasts. Designed by Sydney-based firm Smyth & Smyth, this generously proportioned family home makes full use of its double-block site, responding beautifully to the natural topography to nestle into the surrounding landscape. The design is deliberately tailored for connection and entertaining, featuring a spectacular double-sided kitchen and expansive, sun-drenched terraces that draw the eye ever outward to the water.
While the home’s interior palette is predominantly light and airy, the exterior demanded a materiality that could offer both sophisticated architectural lines and deep, earthy character. To achieve this, the design team turned to a unique and innovative addition to our range Krause Klad.
A custom cladding system featuring handcrafted clay shingles, Klad reimagines traditional masonry into a highly versatile, textural format. Applied to the exterior of the new additions, these Australian-made shingles lend an incredibly tactile, lived-in quality to the home’s facade, proving their exceptional adaptability in premium coastal environments.
