Handmade Krause Bricks in a classic Red Blue blend are featured throughout the stunning Ararat House, a recent project by SJB Architects director Adam Haddow. A deeply personal project designed as a gift for his down-sizing parents, this beautiful home is a testament to the enduring appeal and versatility of brick.

The design cleverly reimagined the original 1950s brick house, preserving its rustic character while adding two new wings that complement and enhance the existing structure. The result is a harmonious blend of old and new, where the warm, earthy tones of fired clay brick creates a sense of continuity and timeless elegance.

As with other Adam Haddow designs such as his own extraordinary Surry Hills home, Ararat House was designed with sustainability at front of mind. Most of the materials in the new addition are locally sourced, including the Krause Bricks, which were produced at our Stawell brickyard less than 30kms away

Ararat House is a true inspiration, demonstrating how brick can be used to create a home that is both beautiful and functional, modern yet timeless.
